The group met on Monday 15 June to discuss progress on the Beach Haven Garden. Construction is well underway and the new space is beginning to take shape.
The group is also looking at the other projects, including the public toilets in the carpark next to the garden. Local artist Neil Coleman produced some concept drawings of what this might look like, a wraparound screen made of wooden posts that fits in with the garden design (curves).
Local Board Chairperson Kay McIntyre indicated that the council is looking to renew the toilet block with something more modern (and therefore cheaper to maintain) so we’ll wait until this is complete before tackling the outside.
The meeting also discussed the signage planned for the gateways and the murals. We’re also planning to tackle the fence line leading to the Beach Haven Hall to tie it into the rest of the village.
